Off Duty Story with Cockpit USA
In this behind-the-scenes video, I partnered with Cockpit USA to capture stunning air-to-air photography, blending aviation heritage with fashion. Each summer, the Cockpit USA creative team heads to the American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale, New York, for a weekend of historic warbirds, airshow flying, and their classic aviator jackets. This year, we turned our creative focus to the skies over New York City for an unforgettable photoshoot around the Manhattan skyline.
In Off Duty Story: The Air to Air Edition Part I, I had the honor of photographing USAF Weapons School graduate and former USAF Thunderbird #2 pilot, John “Slick” Baum, as he flew his beautifully restored Stearman biplane. The shoot captured not only the thrill and precision of aerial photography but also the timeless style of Cockpit USA’s aviation-inspired jackets. This video gives a detailed look at the coordination, risks, and artistry behind photographing these incredible aircraft in flight.
